⚛️📱💻 #5: Tamagui's Bento copy paste-able components now w/ native support, new full-stack Expo Router course, React Native Skia support for web and more
The universal app space keeps pushing with some great news, projects, updates and improvements CIO.
Hey everyone 👋,
Want to share the news with the universal state of mind readers that I am now working full-time on Tamagui 🥳. Super stoked with this opportunity and to be all in with a project that bets that the future looks universal. I am already full hands-on working on the project, specifically on Bento. I have already added native support to all Bento components🕺. More about it below 👇
[ui] Tamagui’s Bento now has native support on all components
To add some context, Bento is a 70+ suite of copy-pasteable components to enhance your app development with Tamagui. Last week, a PR was merged that introduces native support to all components. This is excellent news for early adopters (Bento is still in beta) as they will benefit greatly from this update. More enhancements, components, and features are on the way, including a customization option where you will be able to input your theme tokens to receive back custom-made Bento components.
[course] Full stack with Expo Router
We are in the early days of full-stack with Expo Router. [Simon](https://twitter.com/schlimmson) has shown that he knows the drill when teaching React Native. The course covers Create Stack, Tabs and Drawer navigation, nested navigation, the file-based view hierarchy, Secure pages, API routes, how to work with secret keys and deploy your API 🤯. You need a paid Galaxy pro membership, which is totally worth it.

[lib] React Native Skia release with support for web
React Native Skia already has web support, expo-router support and is integrated to reanimated v3. Now with the release of v1 and canvaskit-js we get a performance boost. Web bundle will include the whole React Native Skia package on a tiny 20 kilobytes polyfill.

[ui] gluestack-ui with NativeWind new component docs
Gluestack-ui has a new version that allows you to use NativeWind styling. It's not a pre-packaged dependency making them copy paste-able which is great and a new approach from gluestack-ui. There is a new components page on their docs for you to see all the available components at your disposal. They are 30+ components ranging from Stylesheet to Button.

That’s it. Universal update done! See you in the next one 👋
